Is organised for children from the age of 4 years, with
additional activity days throughout the year.

Mothers’ Union |
|
The Sheviock branch of the Mothers’ Union has amalgamated with the Saltash
branch. Meetings are held on the second Tuesday of the month at 2 p.m. at St
Stephen by Saltash Church. Transport is available.
|
Tower and Spire |
|
This leaflet, containing Church news and views, is published bi-monthly and is
available in the church or delivered on request.
|
Pastoral Assistants |
|
Some members of the congregation have completed Diocesan training as Pastoral
Assistants and support the Staff in parish pastoral care.
|
Social Events |
|
Fellowship is a strong element of parish life and is encouraged by regular social
events throughout the year. These include the Summer Fayre and Pancake Feast as
well as many other varied activities, with the emphasis on fun.
|
Confirmation |
|
Confirmation marks entry into full membership of the church. The Confirmation
Service takes place in the presence of a Bishop after a series of preparatory
sessions led by the Staff.
|
Holy Matrimony |
|
Those who reside within the parish boundaries, may be married at St Mary’s Church.
Prior to the ceremony, interviews are held, followed by a rehearsal in church. Banns
must be called on three consecutive Sundays before the marriage. Those who do not
reside in the parish and who are not on the Parish Electoral Roll, may be married
under a Special Licence which is granted under specific circumstances. Details can
be obtained from the Staff.

Bereavement |
|
At times of bereavement, Staff support the family by visiting and by offering spiritual
and practical guidance.
|
Weddings and Funerals |
|
Fees are charged by a nationally agreed
scale. A list of these fees can be found in the church porch.
|
Home Communion |
|
The Staff are always available to hold home communions for those who are unable to
come to church.
|
Sunday School |
|
Sunday School is held in church during the service. Children of all ages are welcome
both on a regular and an occasional basis.
